Fall bulbs are so much fun. They are my favorite things to plant in the fall, even after a long hard season, because they bring me forward into next year. And harvesting and experiencing their beautiful blooms in the spring always makes me feel like everything is going to be OK. Since meeting my partner, Nelson, whose Dutch family has a bulb-importing business, I’ve learned even more about how these amazing beings are cultivated, bred, and how to care for them in our very un-Dutch climate.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to plant bulbs according to their species and size, from muscari to fritillaria

  • Spacing, depth, fertilizing, and watering for health & height

  • Planting in a wide trench, with a bulb planter, or in a raised bed

  • Designing bulbs for pots & containers

  • Forcing techniques for hyacinths and paperwhites

What you’ll take home:

  1. A renewed appreciation for the history and industry of bulbs

  2. Select Artemis Flower bulbs

  3. Materials and resources lists

$50 per person, or $85 for two. Coffee and a light snack included.
